Does anyone have a photo of Violet Rose PARKER, my Grandmother married to John EDGAR and her Father was Henry Alfred PARKER. Mother was Sarah Jane GIGNEY; she was born 9th June 1892 at St Leonards, South Australia, Australia. Died 15 March 1962 in the Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia, Australia. Comments: Hi, this message is for the person transcribing the diary of Jack Dobson Sellars. My grandfather was on the HMAT Ascanius in the same convoy 31 as Jack. They left Port Melbourne 15 minutes apart and travelled in convoy for 69 days. He took a number of photographs and kept a minimal account of the war. I have extensively researched this using unit war diaries, the artefacts he handed down and other sources. It is now a 90,000 word manuscript. Recent research led me to the Third Officer of the Watch record for the Benalla and I have mapped where the ships were at noon over the 69 days from Melbourne to Devonport. I have plotted approximately where the submarine surfaced between the Shropshire and Tofua and where the dead nurse and sailors from the torpedoed Hospital ship were sighted. This photo was found in my father's collection and we are trying to work out who the people in the photo are. Believe they are the daughters of Albert HILL and was taken in Blair Athol-Kilburn South Australia in the early 1960's when one of Albert's daughters were getting married.
